6 Reasons for a first cruise
If you have not a luxury cruise before, then you are in for a treat of luxury and is affordable for all of us, not just for the rich. Times have changed for the better of these images, we used to see on TV passengers dressed to the nines ordering champagne in stuffy restaurants on board. Oh things have changed … …
Cruise relaxation and less formal
On most cruises, you can now eat informally if you wish, maybe at the bar or coffee in your room or poolside – no need to dress. However, if you like dressing for dinner, and socialize with other guests, then it is always the gourmet restaurants to discover.
In-flight entertainment and facilities were also extended length. Theaters and cinemas in casinos and spa, indoor and outdoor pools, surfing pools, numerous bars, shops and restaurants and courses board in the kitchen or the photograph, why would you go to a normal hotel?
As soon as you arrive on board, you'll notice the service attentitive you will receive throughout your cruise. Your luggage will be taken in your room, a concierge to help with all the excursions to the ports of call, and room service 24 hours is only the beginning of the stay. If you have one of the penthouse suites you are likely to also have your own butler to unpack and you run a jacuzzi.
Visit several countries in less time
So you want to visit different countries, but only time each year to fly to one or two countries. On a cruise two weeks, you could easily visit 6 or 8 countries of the Mediterranean. Perhaps you prefer the Caribbean and stop on the different islands and enjoy the culture of the Caribbean. This is the beauty of cruises where time is precious and important travel is a must.
Typically, you would be in each port for most of the day which would give you enough time to explore, shop or even just relax in a local park or beach, depending on your location. Some of these ports will be in a large town or city where you can easily walk right the ship in the heart of shopping or a cultural center.
And the best bit, is that you only have to pack and unpack once when you board and not for each location as you would if flying.
What ship size is good for you?
Small ships carrying about 200 passengers tend to have less equipment embedded such as swimming pools and bars etc less. But how many pools and bars do you need? However, they always include a wonderful range of entertainment for your 24hr pleasure. Smaller vessels also tend to include more in the price of the cruise and they have also tightened in the ports as linings have monster around.
The larger vessels are definitely less intimate because they often have 3000 + passengers. The upside is that because of the size of ships, they never seem busy or too crowded. Of course, large ships have more to do, more to do, more to eat and everything.
Another thing to consider is the age group of your party as the largest ships can often attract a wider age range may particularly young families.
A good rule of thumb to consider is to book the itinerary rather than price or size of the ship.
How a lot of fun can I have?
If you enjoy your evening shows are in for a treat of your cruise. All cruise lines provide wonderful performances that can compete with top cabaret in Las Vegas and small shows in different venues to keep you entertained throughout your 2 weeks + On board. In addition there are the theaters or cinemas of us Brits, quiz nights like the pub, large casinos and fruit machines, groups playing in bars, the list goes on.
You can even have cooking lessons, singing, beauty, sports and digital photography, but remember to check with your cruise line first as all the cruise lines offer different experiences.
That Is tipping the staff? Again, check with your booking agent a few cruise lines include this, some additional costs and some leave it to you at the cutting edge as you go. You give or not or whether it included or not, if you get an excellent service of a person on board, then it will always be appreciated. That said, you will always get spoiled on your luxury cruise, so enjoy and look after the staff as they take care of you.
How much food can you eat or if you want to eat?
Go on a cruise Luxury is like going to a 5 star restaurant where the doors are always open, food is free and plentiful, the staff will serve as Kings and you can eat what you want and whenever you want, which is ideal after a day sightseeing or relaxing on the beach.
You can have all what you want for breakfast, followed by a mid-morning snack. 3 meals a procedure and then afternoon tea. Evening brings the 5 or 7 course dinner followed by a supper, if you're still peckish. Then there are the snacks and sandwiches, barbecues on board, coffee lounges and pool bars to keep you occupied with food and beverages. Check with your booking agent for the dress code for your particular vessel, because they are all different.
The only problem with cruising is the food that your clothes do not fit for your return trip!
